The Morozov Eucharist Cover (vozdukh)

(17th century)

Rediscovered and appraised by Mr. Linsner

The Morozov Eucharist Cover was given to the Dormition Cathedral, the Kremlin, Moscow in memory of Boyar Boris Ivanovich Morozov, 20 July 1667. Heavily bejeweled and pearl encrusted, it was lost from the Treasury of the Cathedral after the Revolution of 1917. In 2013, the vozdukh was rediscovered, recognized as part of the "Morozov Donation" and valued as Russian National Patrimony by Mr. Linsner.
